The Northern District of the Glacier’s Edge Council is comprised of the communities  Oregon, Stoughton, McFarland, Deerfield, Cottage Grove, Monona, East Madison, Deforest, Windsor, Sun Prairie, Marshall, Waterloo, Columbus, Dane, Lodi, Merrimac, Poynette, Portage, Lake Delton, and Wisconsin Dells.

Monthly Meetings

The Northern District Roundtable meeting takes place on the third Wednesday of the month at VFW Day Post 7591 at 7:00 PM; 301 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716. Attending a district roundtable meeting can offer several benefits for both new and experienced scouting leaders such as training opportunities, networking, program ideas, district updates, and fellowship with other leaders.. This meeting is typically broken into a Scouts BSA and Cub Scouting session and is led by the District Roundtable Commissioner.

The Northern District Commissioner Meeting takes place on the third Wednesday of the month at VFW Day Post 7591 at 6:30 PM; 301 Cottage Grove Rd, Madison, WI 53716. The Commissioner meeting is for volunteers who are currently, or are interested in serving a unit service role. Commissioners specialize in providing top-notch resources to the units they serve. This meeting is led by the District Commissioner.

The Northern District Committee Meeting takes place on the second Tuesday of the month at the Madison Scout Service Center at 7:00 PM; 5846 Manufacturer’s Drive, Madison, WI 53704. The District Committee meeting is for volunteers who serve, or wish to serve on a District Level. They serve on various sub-committees or as an at-large member helping wherever they can. This meeting is led by the District Chair.

Newsletter

The Northern District Newsletter comes out on the last Wednesday of the month. This newsletter has helpful information on upcoming events and shares updates on the happenings within our district. Why should you sign up for it?

Stay Informed: Subscribers will be the first to know about upcoming events, activities, and important announcements within the BSA District. The newsletter provides timely information on scouting programs, training opportunities, and any changes or updates.

Exclusive Content: Offer exclusive content that is only available to newsletter subscribers. This could include behind-the-scenes looks at scouting events, interviews with prominent figures in the scouting community, or special features that highlight the achievements of Scouts and leaders in the district.

Event Reminders: Subscribers will receive timely reminders about upcoming events, ensuring they never miss out on exciting scouting activities, community service opportunities, and other important gatherings.

Educational Resources: Provide valuable resources, tips, and tools for both Scouts and leaders. This could include articles on leadership development, outdoor skills, and other educational content that enhances the scouting experience.
