Family Friends of Scouting

Scouting is a wonderful program for you and your son. The current cost to deliver the Scouting program in the Glacier’s Edge Council is $162 per Scout per year. This represents the cost of conducting recruiting efforts such as School Night for Scouting, training leaders, maintaining camping facilities, keeping track of advancement records, publishing a monthly newsletter for our volunteers, year-round support from a full-time staff and service centers, and much more.

It insures that the Scouting program will remain strong for your family. Although we receive support from the United Way, it is only 4% of our annual budget and it not enough to fully fund Scouting in our community. Your son’s membership fee supports the national operations of the B.S.A. The pack/troop money earning efforts support your unit. Friends of Scouting goes to underwrite the cost of Scouting for each youth.

Family Investment in Character presentations take place during pack and troop meetings or you may be contacted by a volunteer from your pack or troop to consider a gift.

The Glacier’s Edge Council makes it possible for over 7,400 youth to be Scouts.  We are asking each family to consider supporting one boy for one year with a gift of $162 to our Friends of Scouting campaign.

Please view our Investment in Character brochure.

You can fill out this Online Pledge Form and email it to your District Executive. You can also print this pdf and mail it in to the Glacier’s Edge Council.
