January 16 – Snowstorm Kinnikinnick Middle School, Roscoe, IL
One-day competition, including snow shoeing, tug-of-war, orienteering, drilling, first aid,
obstacle course, snow sculpting, knots, sled pull, etc., plus dinner and a dance. Optional
overnight on Saturday. Cost youth $17 and adult $7 before Dec. 25th. Registration open until

Jan. 22 – Venture Glow Bowl, RiversEdge Center, Janesville, WI
Bowling fun from 9pm to midnight. Cost only $10 includes shoes. Registration: contact Bob
Hornby bhmhth2000@yahoo.com by Jan. 15 if planning on attending with number of how
many will be bowling so the correct number of lanes can be reserved.

Jan. 29-31 – Woodbadge, C7-620-16, Camp Indian Trails, Janesville
Wood Badge will empower you to be a better, more dedicated leader who will be able to help
deliver a high quality program to the youth of your community and it’s a lot of fun too! Many
Scouters report that attending Wood Badge is a life changing experience, where strong,

Feb 12-14 – Arctic Adventure – Gardner Dam Scout Camp, White Lake, WI
You’ll have the opportunity to experience winter skills of the north woods. You can try
snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, winter games, snow sculpturing or maybe
you’ll build a winter shelter. There will also be indoor projects like making fleece garments and
constructing your own pair of snowshoes to take home. Hearty meals will be provided for
participants. Relax with other Venturers to share stories of your adventures, play games and

Feb 20 — Winter Amidships (WAM) Fond du Lac WI
One-day competition running for over 30 years, including knots, tug-of-war, code flags, first
aid, snow bowling, compass, obstacle course, surprises, etc., plus dinner and a dance.

Feb. 20-21 – Wilderness First Aid training, Madison Scout office, Madison, WI
Red Cross certified course. This American Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Basics is a 16-
hour first aid course for back-country situations when EMS is not readily available. The course
meets the current requirements for Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier and other BSA high
adventure programs. This course is designed especially for Venturing Crews and Patrols and
older Scouts, as well as adults supporting an advanced outdoor program. Cost $44. More

Mar 13-15 – Hungry Games, Indian Mound Reservation, Occonomowoc
Venturing event that will include Night games in the woods and athletic field, shooting sports,
youth and adult training sessions, and food demonstrations. More information later.

May 13-15 – Spring Whitewater Weekend, Gardner Dam Scout Camp, White Lake, WI
Cost $40. Participants are taught the techniques and safety of kayaking on a whitewater
river, plus the opportunity to use the camp’s COPE and climbing tower facilities. In addition,
the weekend includes time for movies, campfires and getting to meet new friends. Cost is
$70 for this and May 27-29 weekends or $40 for 1 weekend. Register at:

May 20-22 – Powderhorn , Gardner Dam Scout Camp,
Outdoor/high adventure resource management source designed to motivate and prepare
adult and youth leaders to provide their unit with safe and correct Outdoor/High Adventure
activities. 6 day course. Cost $250. 2nd weekend June 3-5 at Hanna Venture Base,
