Take advantage of opportunities offered in our communities which might help with your Scouting STEM awards. Here’s some ideas:

Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery – Science Saturdays  

Geology Museum UW-Madison

Badger Orienteering Club – often offers a Scouting event in March or April each year.

Wednesday Night @ the Lab – UW Madison – WN@L runs every Wednesday night, 50 times a year. Topics cover the full range of science, engineering and technology research at UW-Madison.

UW Arboretum – walks, family programs, classes and more

UW Madison Science ExpeditionsExploration Stations!-  “hands-on activities for kids and families that invite visitors to experience science as exploring the unknown, develop their science knowledge, and learn about the fascinating research happening every day at the University of Wisconsin”.

Engineering Expo – UW Madison – Awesome engineering displays, competitions, activities and more. Robotics, Solar Power, Green Technology and more. Held every other year. Visit http://engineeringexpo.wisc.edu/ to learn more.

Washburn Observatory – Open House free public viewing. June to August: 9:00-11:00 PM, every Wednesday. Weather dependent. 1401 Observatory Drive University of Wisconsin Madison, WI 53706.

Nuclear Science merit badge – Usually several sessions offered Spring and Fall. UW Madison.
